Author of two books, Matthew Haughey is the founder of the community weblog MetaFilter. From 2000 to 2001 he was an employee of Pyra Labs and helped code early versions of Blogger. Today he is creative director at Creative Commons. Haughey has a personal weblog called A Whole Lotta Nothing and a photoblog titled Ten Years of My Life. He has helped build MetaFilter workalikes such as SportsFilter and helped instigate the5k.org. Beginning in 2004 his profitable niche weblog PVRBlog attracted press attention, gaining notoriety during a controversy over advertising on TiVo.
