About:
- Tanya Hutchens has made strides that represent women’s rights, victories, and monumental firsts. An alumna of the Canadian Paralegal Association, Tanya Hutchens became the first woman in Ontario to receive accreditation in Paralegal Representation as a Paralegal Litigator. After she earned the role of President at Gold Star Legal Services, Tanya Hutchens made it her mission to assist women who have been affected by domestic abuse. Going to battered women’s shelters in the area, Tanya Hutchens heard firsthand the trials and tribulations of these women’s lives. Tanya Hutchens decided to prepare cases for these individuals and take their transgressors to court. The Paralegal Litigator Tanya Hutchens fought on behalf of her clients to place restraining orders on abusive husbands and boyfriends. Most importantly, Tanya Hutchens reunited mothers who were victims of abuse with their children. Even outside of law office hours, Tanya Hutchens encouraged her clients to stay strong and leave the cycle of domestic violence. Today, Tanya Hutchens continues her outreach by coaching women’s self defense.
In addition to the hundreds of cases she took on for women, Tanya Hutchens conducted thousands of tenant, landlord, and housing trials in several Canadian courts. As the President of her own legal services firm, Tanya Hutchens supported fellow paralegals in pursuit of their licenses as a member of the Paralegal Association of Canada at the Cory Commission in Ontario. Tanya Hutchens also ensured that her clients receive their due justice in accordance to the law as their qualified representative.
